Jiuqian Volunteer Center is a not-for-profit organization that uses the art of singing as a vehicle to improve the quality of life of underprivileged children. Singing in a choir gives children a close-knit environment that fosters educational and emotional growth.
The story of the first Jiuqian Volunteer Center choir is one of cross-cultural understanding and togetherness. Jessica Schiffman, a Fulbright scholar who came from the US, found herself starting the first migrant children’s choir in Shanghai.
